Return of looted objects
The issue of looted art and artefacts is very close to the heart of AfricAvenir, not only because Lock Priso's Tangué (see photo), the grandfather of AfricAvenir's founder, Prince Kum'a Ndumbe III, was looted by the ruling German colonial in 1884 and is still displayed in the Ethnological Museum in Munich denying restitution. Perhaps better than any other, this subject discovers neo-colonial power relations, racist arrogance, denial of colonial atrocities and clear double standards. On this page we publish our activities in this field.
